Suspended Metal Canopies
Suspended metal canopies provide durable, weather-resistant shade for commercial properties. Constructed from aluminum or steel with powder-coated finishes, these structures resist corrosion and integrate seamlessly with brick or modern exteriors. Ideal for storefronts, walkways, and break areas, they combine aesthetic appeal with long-term performance. Customizable in size and color to match architectural styles, these canopies offer low-maintenance protection against sun and rain.
Standing Seam Awnings
Standing seam awnings feature interlocking metal panels for a sleek, modern look. Their durable design withstands harsh weather while adding architectural interest to buildings. Commonly used for commercial storefronts and residential patios, these awnings offer energy efficiency by reducing heat gain. The raised seams channel water away, ensuring leak resistance. Available in multiple colors and finishes to complement any exterior design.
Louvered Metal Canopies
Louvered metal canopies allow adjustable sunlight control through angled slats. Perfect for outdoor dining areas and patios, they balance shade with ventilation. Constructed from powder-coated aluminum, these structures resist rust and require minimal upkeep. The design reduces glare while maintaining visibility, making them ideal for restaurants and commercial spaces seeking functional, stylish shade solutions.
Residential Awnings
Residential awnings enhance outdoor living spaces with customizable fabric or metal coverings. They protect patios, windows, and decks from UV rays while improving energy efficiency. Available in diverse colors and patterns, these awnings boost curb appeal and extend usable outdoor time. Motorized options provide added convenience, and durable materials ensure longevity in varying weather conditions.
Enclosures
Vinyl enclosures transform patios into all-weather rooms with clear panels that block wind and rain while maintaining visibility. Popular for restaurants and homes, they extend seasonal usability and create protected dining or lounging areas. The modular design allows easy customization, and the durable vinyl withstands temperature fluctuations. These structures provide a cost-effective way to maximize outdoor space year-round.

With a background in construction and family ties to Memphis businesses, he built the company into a regional leader. His vision focused on combining innovative design with reliable service, ensuring rapid project turnaround and client satisfaction. Under his leadership, Parasol Awnings acquired Williams Shade & Awning in 1999, expanding its legacy to over a century of expertise. Folk remains committed to maintaining quality and customer-centric values.
Questions
What are the benefits of using awnings on a patio or deck?
Awnings provide shade, reduce heat and glare, protect furniture from UV damage, and enhance aesthetic appeal with customizable colors and designs.
How do outdoor canopies differ from traditional awnings?
Canopies are freestanding structures covering larger areas, while traditional awnings attach to buildings, shading windows, doors, or patios.
What materials are commonly used for awning construction?
Awnings use weather-resistant fabrics like acrylic or vinyl, and frames made of aluminum or steel with rust-resistant coatings.
How do you maintain and clean awnings to ensure longevity?
Clean fabric awnings with mild soap and water, avoid harsh chemicals, and inspect frames annually for rust or wear.
Can awnings be customized to match a home's exterior?
Yes, choose from various colors, patterns, and materials to complement siding, brick, or architectural styles with custom dimensions.
How do awnings compare to pergolas or gazebos?
